How To Fix Gmc Sonoma 4x4, Chevy Blazer, S10, Jimmy, Olds Bravada, 4x4 Grinding Clicking Noise

How To Fix Gmc Sonoma 4x4, Chevy Blazer, S10, Jimmy, Olds Bravada, 4x4 Grinding Clicking Noise

This video is of a 1998 GMC Sonoma that was grinding, and clicking whenever I engaged the 4x4. I found out that the actuator vacuum switch was bad, and replaced it. However, it was to late, the gears were fried in the differential. This video will show you step-by-step how to remove and replace the gears. I found a gear repair kit on eBay part# (Differential Carrier Gear Kit 600-561). This kit does not include the sleeve. I found it at GM Parts East Part (You'll have to type in your make and model). NOTE: Sorry if the music isn't to your liking. Youtube removed the music I originally had attatched to this video. Thanks again, for watching.

DIY How to Replace 4WD Vacuum Actuator Switch on a Blazer S10 Jimmy How to Troubleshoot 4WD Issues

DIY How to Replace 4WD Vacuum Actuator Switch on a Blazer S10 Jimmy How to Troubleshoot 4WD Issues

This video walks through the process of diagnosing a common 4WD issue with a 1998 Chevy Blazer, GMC Jimmy, S10 and more. In this video I demonstrate how to replace a vacuum actuator switch that is on the top of the transfer case. I also end up finding and repairing a vacuum leak which ended up being the problem. The vacuum lines should be completely flushed on this vehicle and there is likely a bad seal between the transmission and the transfer case. The vacuum actuator may need to be replaced in the future also due to the amount of transmission fluid in the actuator itself.
