Dave Specter Talks to blues guitarist Paul Geremia for an exclusive Blues and Beyond interview.

This song was written by Paul Geremia who hails from my home state of Rhode Island. Paul has been a regular on the club scene here for well over 40 years, but is popular throughout America and Europe. He is a top rate songwriter and interpreter of country blues, in addition to being an excellent guitar player. Paul is also the finest rack harmonica player I have ever heard, and he possesses one of the driest wits you will ever hear. I remember him getting on stage a few minutes late one evening. He proceeded to apologize to the audience saying “Sorry I’m late. I would have been here earlier, but I took a short cut”. Sadly, Paul suffered a serious stroke a few months back, and he is not able to perform at this time. I have wanted to cover one of his tunes for some time now, and “I Just Roll Along” is a fine example of his songwriting skills. It was the opening song on his 1982 album “I Really Don’t Mind Livin’”. Paul has several quality recordings dating back to the late 60’s which are well worth checking out. He is a true original.
